Education

In addition to our traditional course offerings in European Integration, European Political Economy, European Security and Transatlantic Relations, we encourage students to pursue our certificate programs in European Affairs and European Union Studies and to participate in our annual summer study abroad program on the European Union and Transatlantic Relations.

For more information on the European Union Study Abroad Program please visit the study abroad web page or download our 2009 brochure.

During the course of our three year grant period, the EUCE will spearhead the creation of a new course on EU-US governance and regulatory issues. We will also establish a new interdisciplinary graduate level minor in EU Studies.

The EUCE will collaborate with The Southern Center for International Studies (SCIS), The Lovett School and The Atlanta International School to host annual teacher workshops to promote EU and transatlantic studies in local area high schools.

The Network of European Union Centers of Excellence offers a wealth of educational resources including college level course syllabi and pedagogical materials for K-12 Teachers. Please consult their website for more information: www.unc.edu/euce/education.htm

The EUCE is pleased to promote and support the University System of Georgia's European Union Studies Program, which includes a new online transatlantic degree program and a European Union Certificate Program. For more information please visit their website: www.eustudiesprogram.org

Additionally, up to four undergraduate interns work at the EUCE each semester, assisting with office work, event planning, and research. Each intern works approximately 10-12 hours per week and receives three academic credit hours for their work.

If you are interested in applying for a Spring 2010 internship, please check this page again in early October 2009 for more details and an application.
