Transportation and Regional Economic Development

One specific area of interest where the European perspective is of great interest across many levels of government in the Atlanta area is in transportation. Partnering with the existing Georgia Transportation Institute University Transportation Center (GTI UTC), an internationally recognized transportation research institute housed at Georgia Tech’s School of Civil Engineering, the EUCE will facilitate further interactions with the Atlanta Regional Commission and appropriate policymakers at the EU level. Moreover, the Center will bring European experts and policymakers working in the public transportation sector. The EUCE and GTI UTC will host conferences that are multidisciplinary in nature and facilitate exchange between academics and policymakers.
